Well the highlight of the week has definitely been our trip to 'The Yorkshire Wildlife Park'.
The children all had an amazing time. We got to see lots of different animals including lions, zebras, giraffes and tigers. I think the favourite for lots of us were the Polar Bears. They put on a great show play fighting and swimming. It was very entertaining!
The children all behaved so well and were a credit to the school. They all made the day very enjoyable for everyone.
We are now using all our knowledge of Africa to write our own information posters. This week we have decided on the Headings and Sub-Headings. Next week we will begin to write our paragraphs of information.
As we are getting closer to the end of the academic year all children have been asked to return school library books by the end of next week. Please could you make sure your child returns any books that they have so that they can be returned to the library. Thank you!
Enjoy your weekend. Fingers crossed the summer weather makes a return soon!

Another week comes to an end!
The children have all enjoyed the sunshine this week. It has been lovely to see them outside without coats and jumpers.
In English we have continued our writing inspired by 'Mama Panya's Pancakes'. The children have been acting out the story and writing thought bubbles as the main character Adika.
In Maths we have been recapping on solving problems involving all 4 operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). The children have shown confidence in using a range of strategies to solve these problems. Next week we will be recapping on fractions of shapes, numbers and quantities.
Next week is our Yorkshire Wildlife Trip. Please make sure that you have read the information sent home earlier this week. The weather is looking a little unpredictable so please make sure that your child as a lightweight waterproof jacket that they can put in their rucksack bag. This is an outdoor trip! It should be a fantastic day for everyone.
Have a lovely weekend.

It has been so lovely to finally see some sunshine!
The highlight of this week has definitely been 'Sports Day'. We had a wonderful morning on Thursday. The children all participated well and enjoyed the event. We had lots of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place stickers.
In maths we have been adding and subtracting multiples of 10. The children have shown great understanding and have been using their mental skills well to solve the number sentences.
In English we have been looking at Invitations. We have thought about what information is needed on an invitation. Next week we will be writing our own invitations to Mama Panya's Pancake Feast.
The children have also been busy this week completing the Key Stage One entry for the Art Exhibition. This is taking place this week end (see the newsletter for more information).
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine!
