Well we are nearly at the end of the Year.  One more week to go!

We started the week with our Key Stage 1 and Early Years Sports Day.  We were very lucky with the weather and the children all had a fantastic time.

On Wednesday we had our transition morning.  All the children enjoyed spending some time with their new teachers in their new classrooms.  I was very proud with how they all embraced this change.  Well done to them all!  At the end of the day on we showed off our Seaside Homework Projects.  The children all did a fantastic job.  I hope all the parents and carers who came enjoyed seeing their creations.

In English we have continued our work on Shape Poems.  The children have been writing their poems in neat thinking carefully about the shape they wrote them in.

In maths this week we have been solving some maths puzzles.  The children enjoyed working in pairs to organise numicon pieces so that each row, column and diagonal, in a 3 by 3 grid, equalled the same.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Well this week has all been about our Seaside Trip.

The children all had an amazing time in Filey. The weather was perfect! Not too hot and it did not rain.  The children enjoyed playing in the sand and paddling in the sea.  We even had a talk from the Life Guard about keeping safe at the Seaside. At the end of the day we all enjoyed a delicious ice-cream.

The children were all so well behaved and were a joy to spend the day with.

Thank you to all our helpers including school staff and parents and other volunteers.  We even had ex-staff coming back from retirement to help us on the day.

Have a fabulous weekend.

A shorter week for the children but still, as always, a very busy one.

In maths we have been recapping on multiplication and division.  The children have been using the most efficient methods to solve problems including using their mental recall skills.

In English we have been writing 'Riddles'.  These have been inspired by the lovely descriptions of animals in the book 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley'. The children have been very creative!

As part of our DT unit of work the children have been designing 'Seaside' inspired bunting.  This week we have been making our bunting from our designs.  Some of the finished pieces will be displayed at the Art Exhibition being held next week in Guiseley (see the newsletter).

The children are all getting very excited for next week's Seaside Trip.  Please check the information sent out earlier this week.  Remember the children MUST be in school for 8:30 am that morning for an early departure.

Enjoy your weekend.
