Hello,
This week we have welcomed lots of visitors into school!
We had a slightly different assembly on Thursday morning delivered by Steel from Gladiators. He spoke to the children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and reminded them than anything is possible.
On Friday morning, we welcomed our local MP, Katie White into school. She met with the school council who had lots of questions to ask her.
Finally, on Friday afternoon we welcomed MindMate back into the classroom to deliver a PSHE workshop.
Other highlights include a group of children representing the school at the Leeds Indoor Athletics Finals on Tuesday afternoon. Sadly after winning our first heat we didn't win this event but all the children had fun and represented the school brilliantly.
Have a lovely weekend.

Hello,
Another busy week but we are enjoying being back and into our normal routines!
Thank you to all the parents/carers who came to the residential meeting on Wednesday. If you were unable to attend, your child has been given an envelope with 4 important documents that were given out at the meeting. Please return both the Leeds City Council and Peat Rigg consent forms by Monday at the latest.
There are lots of events going on next week starting with cross country tomorrow morning and then the Leeds Indoor Athletics finals on Tuesday. We also have a special visitor from Gladiators in school on Thursday and a visit from our local MP next Friday! Busy, busy, busy!
Have a lovely weekend!

Hello,
We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year!
We have had a slightly shorter week this week with the training day on Monday but we are back into the swing of things now!
We have enjoyed starting our new topic, Mountains and Rivers (during this topic we will pay particular attention towards comparing our region with the Western U.S.A) through guided reading so far. We have started our new class text, King of the Cloud Forests by Michael Morpurgo and looked at a reading comprehension about how mountains are made.
On Wednesday while the Y5 children rehearse for their upcoming performance of the Wizard of Oz, we spend most of the day in Y6 focusing on key reading and arithmetic preparation for SATs.
Next week there is a meeting about our residential to Peat Rigg on Wednesday afternoon straight after school. This will be held in Maple Tree classroom. Please wait by the cloakroom doors the children exit out of and a member of staff will come down to collect you.
Have a lovely weekend!
