Cedar Tree week 13 - 13.06.25

It's been another great week in Cedar class. The highlight of our week was sports day on Wednesday - the children all tried their best and most of all had fun. Thank you to all of you that came to support - it was a lovely atmosphere.

In other news, we have been busy continuing with our reading of 'Stig and the Dump.' We reached quite a cliffhanger this week so we are keen to continue and see what happens next week. In maths we have been continuing to practise telling the time - we are still finding this tricky so any extra help at home would be helpful as this is a really important life skill.

In history we have continued with our topic learning on the Stone Age. This week we were looking at what life was like during the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods (whilst also trying hard to spell these tricky words!) We will be moving on the Neolithic next week before fast forwarding to the Bronze Age.

Have a lovely, sunny weekend and we will see you next week.

Weekly Update (Week 1) w.e 09.09.22

Mr Dring (p.dring) on: Cedar Tree Class

Hello.

What a fantastic start to the year! It has been lovely getting to know the children this week. They have settled really well and I have been extremely impressed with their positive attitude and enthusiasm to their learning during this week of settling into our new classroom. The children have welcomed me every day with such happy conversations and beaming smiles despite any underlying start of term nerves.

We are very excited to share that we have been able to organise a visit to Murton Park this half term to support us with our new topic about the Ancient Roman era. Further details regarding the trip have already been be shared via a letter sent home with your child earlier this week.

It was lovely to meet so many grown ups this week either at our class door or in Wednesday's drop in sessions before and after school.

Looking forward to a fantastic year in Cedar Tree Class,

Mr Dring
