Hello
What a busy end of term. Yesterday's KS2 visit to church was enjoyed by all despite the rain - thank you to all parent helpers that ensured all children in KS2 could attend.
We have finished our India and Fairtrade unit in Geography - see how much information your child can recall. In PSHE, we have been discussing our rights and how people have to make choices e.g. whether to fund hospitals/schools/roads/libraries etc.
In Maths, we have continued to explore volume and capacity in Year 3 and decimals/hundredths in Year 4. In Science, we have investigated opaque, translucent and transparent as part of our Light unit.
Have a wonderful Easter break.

Hello
What an amazing week with the culmination of all our Oliver musical rehearsals - the children did so well without word prompts and looked great as Victorian children in their costumes. Thank you for your support with this.
In Science we have loved learning about how we see light and in Computing we have loved exploring photo editing techniques. In Maths, Year 3 have been exploring capacity and volume whilst Year 4 and been investigating decimals buy dividing 1 and 2 digit numbers by 10.
Next week, the children have the exciting opportunities to attend the FORP Easter Egg scramble, Year 3 have a Road Safety course and a whole KS2 visit to church.
Have a wonderful weekend

Hello
Thank you to everyone who was able to meet with me for the Parents' Evenings this week it has been a great opportunity to share the great progress your children are making.
In Science, we learnt about the Sun and how to protect ourselves from it's harmful rays as part of our Light unit. We have finished drafting our formal letters in Writing and have moved on to Mass (g, kg) in Year 3 and tenths as decimals in Year 4.
At the start of the week we undertook our Maths and Reading assessments and I look forward to celebrating with the children the progress they have made since September. Whilst at the end of the week, we have been focussed on supporting Year 5 as part of their Oliver production.
Have a wonderful weekend

Hello
Wow, what a week. We've been busy finalising our letter to convince non-Fairtrade farmers of the benefits of joining a Fairtrade scheme for them and their families, finished our Fraction units and moved onto Yr 3 mass (g.kg) Yr 4 decimals and exploring Light in our Science unit. World Book Day was great too - a real range of inspirational characters and the children enjoyed meeting a 'real' author and had endless questions for him!
Year 3 took the opportunity on Tuesday and Wednesday to hone and further develop their writing and mathematical skills in the absence of Year 4 children.
Our Year 4 children made us very proud in everything they achieved on our residential and a sample of the many photos are in the link below. Thank you to everyone who has passed on their appreciation to myself but also to Mrs Harris, Mr Kyriacou, Miss Suggitt and Mrs Riches - all of who's voluntary attendance made sure this residential could go ahead.
Remember it is Parents' Evening next Monday and Wednesday - please contact the office to book your slot if you are struggling with the online links at all. We only get 10 minutes together so please be aware if an appointment looks like it will overrun we will arrange a further appointment another time to continue.
Have a wonderful weekend including a happy Mothers' Day too.

Hello
A wonderful week of learning, with formal letter writing in English, equivalent Yr3 and Yr4 fractions in Maths, Yr5 Oliver singing practice in Music, inference reading skills in whole class reading and the start of our Light unit in Science. The children also met a modern day explorer James Ketchell on Wednesday.
Please remember it is World Book Day next Thursday (7th March) and next Monday 4th Cedar class have an 'extra' PE lesson for skipping practice due to Year 4 missing out on the taught lesson on Wednesday whilst at residential.
I wish you a happy, safe and fun weekend.
Regards
Mr Dring
