Hello!
We have had a fantastic first week back. All the children have returned to school with big smiles and a positive attitude to learning!
In English we have introduced our new focus text 'Handa's Surprise' and the children wrote a setting description of Handa's village. Here is an animated version of the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocnRQi89nK8
In Art each week we will be learning about different sculptors. For our first lesson we learnt about Michelle Reader and how she makes sculptures out of recycled materials. We made our own Creative Monsters using card.
In Science this half term we are learning all about plants. We reminded ourselves of the parts of plants and what they need to survive. In groups the children were given various classroom resources to make a flowering plant. They also had to label the root, stem, leaves and flower.
