Hello!
Another great week in Pear Tree has come to an end. Everyone came back with a big smile and a super attitude on Monday!
In English our new focus text is 'The Smartest Giant in Town'. This week the children have been writing character descriptions. They created a word bank of adjectives which they used to write a description about George the giant.
In Maths we have started a new topic on fractions. This week we have been looking a 1/2. The children have been recognising and finding 1 half of shapes and quantities. We have also been using positional language - left, right, above & below. We even had a little dance to the Cha Cha Slide to practice left and right.
On Thursday 5th March next week it is World Book Day. This year we are having a traditional dress up day so please come to school dressed up as one of your favourite characters. Please also bring your favourite book into class to share! Here is a link to the letter that was shared on the Jotter App before the holidays - WBD 2026
