Hello!
Another busy week has come to an end. It was lovely to talk to you all at Parent's Evening and let you know how well the children have settled into Pear Tree Class.
On Tuesday we had our Great Fire of London Workshop lead by forest school practitioner Sue. We recreated the events of the fire by making our very own Tudor houses from cereal boxes, scrap paper and paint. We then took them down to the field and made Pudding Lane with St Paul’s Cathedral in the centre. Sue then started a fire in Thomas Farriner’s bakery, and we watched it spread from house to house until they had all turned to ash. The children really enjoyed this immersive activity! Please see links to videos below.
In Maths we have been working on number bonds within 10 and using practical resources such as numicon to help with addition. In English the children have been writing in first person as Samuel Pepys retelling the events of the fire.
Have a lovely weekend.
