Weekly Update 02.05.25

Hello!
It has been a lovely week in Pear Tree with even some sunshine to enjoy :)
In Maths we have finished our work on position and direction by looking at quarter and three quarter turns.
In English we continued with our new focus text 'The Pirates Next Door'. The children have planned and written recounts using the days of the week about what Matilda got up to with her new neighbour Jim Lad.
In Science we are looking at life cycles this half term and we have been focussing on the human life cycle this week.
In DT we have been evaluating lunchboxes and thinking about the properties that make them work well. Next week we will start designing our lunchboxes for Pirate Paddy. Thank you to those who have already brought in some resources!
Next week as a school we will be commemorating the 80th anniversary for VE Day on Thursday 8th. The children will have the opportunity to learn more about VE Day through an assembly, dress in VE Day attire (message for parents to follow) & participate in a street party style lunch.
