Weekly Update 13.6.25

Mrs Trotter (l.trotter) on: Maple Tree Class Blog

Hi,

Year 6 are busy preparing for their end of year production. We have had several script read throughs and individual parts will be given out next week.

Wednesday was a busy day as the Year 6 children helped with the infants Sports' Day and then participated and helped in their own Sports' Day in the afternoon. The weather was glorious and everyone had a great time.

All the children in Year 6 have now received their £5 for the 'Grow a £5' event. The first Market Day Event is on Monday 30th June.

Transition days have now started and for all the secondary schools. Next week, children moving to Benton Park in September will have their first transition day.

As you can see the next few weeks will be very busy!

Have a great weekend

Mrs Trotter

Weekly Update 6.6.25

Hi,

Maple Tree Class have been busy completing their DT project Automata Animals this week. The children have been building a moving toy using a cam mechanism. They have enjoyed using different tools and worked really hard to complete the project. Photos of the finished cam mechanisms to follow....

Year 6 had a visit from West Yorkshire Police this week. The workshop is designed to inform the children how they can keep safe when they move to secondary school in September and included a discussion about road safety and vapes.

We will begin to work on the Year 6 production of 'Let Loose' next week. The children will also be preparing for their 'Grow a £5' event.

Have a lovely weekend

Weekly Update 23.5.25

Hi,

What a busy half-term it has been!

We finished the half-term with the children being let loose on the school grounds to complete an orienteering activity which they thoroughly enjoyed. Coincidentally the Year 6 end of year production is called 'Let Loose'.

Information has been sent home this week regarding Leaver's Hoodies (link below), Grow a £5 and Bikeability (parents to register using the QR code on the letter). FORP (Friends of Rufford Park) are kindly funding the hoodies; parents/carers need to order them directly from PC Sports using the link provided.

Leaver's Hoodies

It's going to be another busy final half-term when we return in June. I have several transition meetings with secondary schools booked and the children will be attending their various transition days.

Have a fantastic half-term break!

Mrs Trotter
