Weekly Update 27.6.25

Mrs Trotter (l.trotter) on: Maple Tree Class Blog

Hello,

Rehearsals are in full swing for the Year 6 production. The children have been busy learning their lines and the songs are sounding amazing!

Another busy week next week....

Bikeability will be taking place. All children have been told the days they are completing the training. Sometimes the timetable for Bikeability changes but we will keep the children informed of any changes. Children need to wear comfortable clothes (PE kit is appropriate but no shorts). The weather is looking very warm next week so children should also be wearing sun screen. Children bringing in their own bike also need to ensure it is secured with a bike lock.

Monday is the first 'Market Day Event' for the children in Year 6. The event will be available to parents/carers after school on Monday until 4pm. Children in school will be able to browse during school time on Monday and will be able to bring in some money on the second Market Day on Wednesday 9th July.

Both Benton Park and Guiseley School held transition days on Wednesday. Everyone had a great day; information about the food offered at the schools was a particular highlight.

The weeks are flying by......

Enjoy the weekend

Weekly Update 20.6.25

Mrs Trotter (l.trotter) on: Maple Tree Class Blog

Hi,

We have had a very productive week in Maple this week. Parts for the Year 6 production have now been assigned and we have started script reading so that we are ready to perform in just a few weeks time.

On Tuesday, some of our Year 6 pupils spent their first of 2 transition days at Benton Park – it sounds to have gone well and they are looking forward to their next one next week. Guiseley School and Priesthorpe Academy also have their transition days next week.

On Wednesday, we completed our David Hockney inspired landscapes for the upcoming art exhibition and on Thursday we completed our Automata Animals DT project.

In maths, we have been continuing to work on the practical application of maths to planning a holiday. This week we were looking at travel costs and working out the most cost effective way to get to our destinations – the children were brilliant at this so do call on them for any help when booking you summer holidays – they will definitely find you the best price!

Have a lovely (sunny) weekend whatever you are doing and we will see you next week.

Mrs Trotter and Mrs Ward

Hi,

Year 6 are busy preparing for their end of year production. We have had several script read throughs and individual parts will be given out next week.

Wednesday was a busy day as the Year 6 children helped with the infants Sports' Day and then participated and helped in their own Sports' Day in the afternoon. The weather was glorious and everyone had a great time.

All the children in Year 6 have now received their £5 for the 'Grow a £5' event. The first Market Day Event is on Monday 30th June.

Transition days have now started and for all the secondary schools. Next week, children moving to Benton Park in September will have their first transition day.

As you can see the next few weeks will be very busy!

Have a great weekend

Mrs Trotter
