Weekly Update 17.1.25

Mrs Trotter (l.trotter) on: Maple Tree Class Blog

Hi,

Maple Tree Class have been busy learning about figurative language in English this week. Ask the children what the acronym SHAMPOO stands for.

In maths we have been learning about decimal numbers and have been practising rounding to the nearest tenth and hundredth.

We were pleased when the snow and ice finally melted and we could be outside for breaks and PE where the children are learning to play handball.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Update 10.1.25

Hello,

Despite a slightly disrupted start to the week because of the snow, Maple Tree Class have had a productive week. A number of children attended the Indoor Athletics competition in Horsforth and the Young Voices event in Sheffield. We concluded the week with our rainforest topic immersion day (see photos) which we rescheduled from Tuesday. Hopefully, next week will be snow and ice free!

Weekly Update 20.12.24

Mrs Trotter (l.trotter) on: Maple Tree Class Blog

Hi,

This week started with our UKS2 parties on Monday afternoon, followed by our assembly for parents "A WW2 Christmas" on Tuesday, lots of children out attending singing events on Wednesday, making Christmas cards, finishing the book and watching the film version of Goodnight Mister Tom as well as wrapping up lots of other curriculum areas. We have had a fantastic first term and can't believe how quickly it has passed! The children have really enjoyed our WW2 topic so lets hope they enjoy our rainforest and Ancient Maya topic just as much in the new year! Speaking of our new rainforests topic, we would like to ask if you could help us with out our exciting topic launch activity. Please see details below. Children may also want to collect and bring in a small amount of moss to add to their biome.

UKS2 looking fantastic in their WW2 costumes:

Mrs Senior and I would like to thank you for our Christmas gifts.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
