Weekly Update 18.9.26
Another busy week full of learning has come to an end.
This week we have looked at emotions. The children enjoyed using the mirrors to explore different facial expressions and we spoke about different scenarios that we would feel these emotions. We also thought about this when creating our self-portraits.
On Monday we learnt the word 'bramble'. We listened to an explanation of what a bramble is, tasted juicy blackberries and drew our own bramble bush.
On a rainy Thursday morning we went to the hall for the first time this academic year. We played 'follow the leader' which involved moving in different ways. We then sang 'The Farmer's in his Den'.
We have also continued learning to compare groups of objects using our key words 'more' and 'fewer'.

Weekly Update 11.9.26
What an eventful second week back at school!
The children have well and truly settled into the new routines and are very happy and settled in our classroom. In phonics the children have been developing their phonological awareness (ability to discriminate different sounds). We have explored different musical instruments and also experimented with making different noises with our voices.
In maths we have focused on comparing amounts of objects, using our key words 'lots', 'more' and 'fewer'.
We have played outside every day and have loved exploring our new classroom environment. Elsewhere in the curriculum we have also looked at the story 'Things I Like' by Anthony Browne and used this to discuss the things that we all enjoy. We are also beginning to name different emotions and will look more at this next week.

Weekly Update 4.9.26
We have had a great start to our year in nursery. The children have all enjoyed themselves and have started becoming more familiar with our routines. Everyone should have had an update on Tapestry with photos of your child's first day. If you need any help with Tapestry then contact the office.
