A special well done to these pupils!
Much of this week has been dominated by writing different text types, based on our class novel, Darwin’s Dragons. We have really been enjoying this story – I sincerely hope we manage to finish the story by the end of term!
Negative numbers have been the theme of maths and I have been most impressed by the children’s grasp of this concept. This will boost them in Y6.
Assessment results have been sent home – if you haven’t spotted the usual info slip, then please look in your child’s Reading Record Book for it. End of school reports will also mention these, but these are not due to be sent out for a few weeks and I thought you would like to know how your child got on. They have proved how very hard they have all worked this year. #proudteacher
As part of the Aireborough Learning Partnership, Rufford Park always participates in an art exhibition each year. So this week, we have been looking at Yorkshire and David Hockney and combining the two. Beautiful ‘pop art style’ paintings of familiar scenes have been created in Oak Tree this week. And rather a Zen atmosphere in our classroom while everyone painted in acrylics…(not so Zen when we all had to wash up though!)
Enjoy your weekend!
Yours,
Mrs Adrienne Amos
