Well done to these pupils this week.
Reader of the Week: Matthew
Special Mention Pupil: Bailey
World Music has greeted the children every morning – there has been quite a ‘zen’ atmosphere to start each day! Ladysmith Black Mambazo seemed to be the favourite!
In English, we have continued to read our novel, Darwin’s Dragons, and this week, the children have started a variety of tasks, which have furthered their understanding of the plot so far. I think a highlight was looking at information all about Charles Darwin and HMS Beagle. It has helped to put this story on the historical timeline.
In Maths, we have mostly completed our end of year assessment tests, but there has been some time to ensure methods for multiplication and division are secure. We also have been practising our times tables – there are still a handful of pupils whose knowledge in this area is not secure. Maybe ask your child how they did in their times table test (out of 25). If they achieved 20 or above, then their knowledge is mostly secure.
PE sessions were fun again this week, as it was Sports Day. Photos will be uploaded to our gallery later today.
I really hope you have a pleasant and sunny w/end.
Yours,
Mrs Adrienne Amos
