Weekly Update 2.10.26

Posted: Oct 2, 2026 by: Mrs Trotter (l.trotter) on: Ash Tree Class Blog

Hi,

Ash Tree Class have been immersed in understanding how and why evacuation took place during World War Two. In English lessons, the children have been identifying the features of diary writing and have been planning their own entry in the role of an evacuee. Lots of feelings words have been discussed to explain the range of emotions the evacuees would have been feeling. In our history lesson, we discussed what the evacuees would have packed in their suitcase (if they had one!).

Lots of number line work and ordering and comparing numbers has taken place in maths. The children in my group have become increasingly confident in their understanding on how numbers can be ordered in both ascending and descending order.

The process of voting for School Council will take place next week. If children are interested they need to produce a poster to present to class and explain why they would like to take on this important role in school.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs Trotter
