Weekly Update 24.4.26

Posted: Apr 24, 2026 by: Mrs Trotter (l.trotter) on: Ash Tree Class Blog

Hi,

A great start to the summer term - how quickly the year is passing!

On Thursday morning, UKS2 worked together as we launched our new topic of Ancient Greece. Time was spent in each of the three classrooms, delving into art, literacy and geography and the enthusiasm was very evident. We are all looking forward to further work on this exciting period of history.

This term’s class novel is by Maz Evans and is called ‘Who Let the Gods out?’ The children have looked at the cover, made predictions and read/ listened to the first three chapters. It is a fantastic book – full of humour and adventure and everyone seems to be enjoying it so far.

PE this term is Athletics and Striking Games– two fun lessons have happened already this week. We have been practising basic skills so to start off with but we will soon move onto small games of rounders or cricket.

The Year 6 children are busy preparing for SATs (11.5.26 - 14.5.26). A note was sent home this week informing parents that breakfast will be available to all children in Year 6 on Monday - Thursday of that week (children should arrive at 8:30 on these days).

Enjoy the super sunny weekend!

Mrs Trotter
