Weekly Update-20/6/25

Posted: Jun 20, 2025 by: Mr Kyriacou (n.kyriacou) on: Beech Tree Blog

Hello everyone,

This week the children have been doing a range of assessments, and I’m extremely pleased to tell you that they’ve all done brilliantly and made great progress throughout the year. Well done!

In science, our lesson focused on identifying different human teeth and understanding what they look like, where they are in the mouth, how many of each that we have and what their function is. The children really enjoyed the lesson and are looking forward to conducting an experiment next week.

In history, we have continued our work on the Stone Age to the Iron Age. This week, we were focusing on the Neolithic Stone Age, and we were looking at how food, tools and homes had changed during this age in comparison to the previous two ages that we have looked at. We also focused on how those changes impacted those early humans.

In art, the children have really been enjoying our unit of work on Fruit and Vegetables. This week, the children have been experimenting with mixing paints and creating a range of warm and cold colours and then using these skills to sketch and paint their own fruit or vegetable.

Take care,

Mr Kyriacou
