Hello everyone,
This week, the children have been writing their diary entries from the perspective of Howard Carter when he found the tomb of Tutankhamun. They produced some absolutely amazing pieces, which were overflowing with great description, were written in past tense, used first person and included lots of thoughts and feelings.
We have also been finishing up our work on time, converting between 12 and 24 hour time. This has been challenging for some children, but I've been so impressed by their positive attitudes and willingness to persevere even when it gets challenging. Well done!
We also started to create our clay canopic jars. The children were given the option of four gods to choose from and they designed their jars on paper and then began working on the heads of the god that they had chosen. The children absolutely loved the process of creating their sculptures and, again, I was really impressed with the children who found it slightly challenging because they did not give up; they persevered and tried their best. And I always say to the children that their best is more than good enough! Well done!
